About Me
With over 38 years of leadership experience in the agribusiness sector, I have successfully scaled enterprises worth ₹7,000+ crore and executed India's largest single-stream greenfield ammonia-urea project ($1B+). My expertise spans strategic leadership, P&L management, global expansion, and building high-performing teams across diverse markets.
Currently serving as Business Head for Fertilizer Business at Reliance Industries Limited, I drive strategic direction, forge strategic partnerships, and engage with governments to optimize the agri-ecosystem. My track record includes successful greenfield project execution, financial restructuring, crisis management, and establishing operations across 15+ countries.

Reliance Industries Limited Sep 2024 – Present- Leading the strategic direction and P&L for Reliance's fertilizer business, driving expansion across domestic and international markets
- Forging high-impact partnerships with PSUs, FMCs, and global suppliers to achieve a 1-million-ton volume target in record time
- Spearheading policy advocacy and engaging with central and state governments to optimize the agri-ecosystem and regulatory frameworks
- Overseeing global supply chains, trading, and logistics while driving innovation in the crop nutrition sector
Chief Operating Officer
Gencrest (Samta Group) July 2023 – Sep 2024- Directed global operations and P&L, successfully establishing business footprints in India and 15+ countries across Africa and other regions
- Led the acquisition and setup of fertilizer plants and agribusiness investments globally, managing production, R&D, and procurement
- Implemented cost-control measures and process optimizations to drive operational efficiency across international units
Executive Vice President & COO
Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. April 2010 – July 2023- Executed India's largest single-stream greenfield ammonia-urea project ($1B+) from land acquisition to full commissioning
- Scaled the business to ₹7,350 Cr revenue with 1.3 MMT urea capacity, managing a distribution network of 1,500+ dealers and 35,000 retailers
- Played a pivotal role in achieving financial closure ($522M+), handling debt restructuring, and successfully navigating NCLT exits
- Built and led a cross-functional workforce of 300+ professionals, establishing SAP infrastructure and corporate governance systems
Marketing Head (Functional Head)
Indo Gulf Fertilisers (Aditya Birla Group) Mar 2006 – April 2010- Transformed the organization from a single-product entity to a diversified portfolio of 100+ products including agrochemicals and seeds
- Managed sales revenue of ₹3,965 Cr, overseeing a turnover of 1.1 MMT Urea and maximizing market share in strategic zones
